ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020: Registration process to start today

Attention applicants, the online registration procedure for ISRO's Young Scientist Programme 2020 will begin from today. The programme is chiefly aimed at giving fundamental knowledge on space technology, space science and space applications to the students who have an acute interest in the area of space.

ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020: Important information

  • The program will be of 2 weeks duration (May 11 to May 22, 2020)
  • Three students from each state and union territory will be finalized to participate in the programme
  • Those students who have completed their 8th class and are currently studying in class 9th are eligible for the programme
  • The selection will be done on their academic performance.
  • The two-week programme will be conducted in 4 centers of ISRO located in Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Shillong, and Bangalore

ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020: weightage for selection

Total: 100%
  • Performance in the 8th Std Exam: 60%
  • Prize in school events held by the School or Education board from the year 2016 onwards (like Elocution, Debate, Essay Writing....) at District/State/National/ International Level (The higher level will be considered for weightage): 2/4/6/10%
  • Winners of District/State/National/International Level sports activities conducted by School or Education board from the year 2016 onwards (The higher level will be considered for weightage): 2/4/6/10%
  • Scouts and Guides/NCC/NSS Member - during the current academic year (2019-20): 5%
  • Studying in Rural School (Certificate of proof to this effect to be produced from the head of the school - Criteria: The school, where the candidate is studying should be located in Block/Village Panchayath Area): 15%

Step 1: Visit the official website of ISRO
Step 2: On the homepage, click on ‘YUVIKA 2020’, when it will be live
Step 3: A new page will pop up
Step 4: Register yourself and fill up the application form
Step 5: Then click on Submit

  • The opening date of online application: February 3, 2020
  • Closing date of online application: February 24, 2020
  • The beginning date of the programme: May 11, 2020
  • Last date of the programme: May 22, 2020
