JEE Main Result declared In Record Time, 9 Students Score 100 Percentile

NTA has issued the JEE Main result within 8 days of completing the exam, which is a record of sort in the history of competitive exams. The examination was conducted from January 6 - 9, in shifts, for more than 11 lakh competitors. Press Trust of India reported that nine candidates scored perfect 100 in JEE Main exam.

Out of the 9 who got 100 percentile score in the examination also cover Delhi boy Nishant Agarwal. The others are - one each from Gujarat and Haryana, two each from Telangana, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, the news agency quoted the education ministry.

In this national entrance examination for admissions to UG engineering programs held, 8,69,010 competitors had appeared for the examination for BE and BTech programs for which the results have been issued now.

1,38,409 competitors had appeared for BArch paper and 59,003 for B.Planning paper -- the results for both the papers are yet to out.

In the previous JEE main, 24 candidates had scored 100 percentile.

The NTA was established in 2017 after CBSE urged to withdraw itself from the duty of conducting engineering and medical entrance examinations. The board, one of the biggest in the country, held class 10th, 12th board exams for over 30 lakh students annually.

JEE Main is also a gateway for admission to B.Tech programs in NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTI), Establishments funded by participating State Governments.

JEE Main is also an eligibility test for the JEE Advanced, which the competitor has to take if they are aspiring for admission to the UG programs granted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs).

JEE Main is conducted twice a year, in January and in April, to provide more opportunity to the students to improve their scores in the exam if they fail to give their best in the first attempt, without wasting their entire academic year.

The top 2,24,000 rankers will be eligible to take JEE Advanced. The next JEE Main will be conducted in April and the examination details will be released in February.
