JEE Mains April 2020 examination dates changed

The NTA JEE Mains April 2020 examination dates have been changed. Earlier, the JEE April 2020 exams were supposed to be conducted from April 3 - 9, the revised JEE Mains examination dates are April 5, 7, 9 and 11. Besides the exam dates, there are a few other changes for the JEE Mains 2020 examinations.

A major change for the JEE Mains 2020 examinations is the website. The JEE website address has been modified since last year.

JEE Mains exam pattern change:

The examination pattern of JEE changed in the NTA JEE Mains 2020.

Though MCQs have negative marking, there is no negative marking in the 4-mark long-form questions.

JEE Mains April 2020 examination won’t be a second attempt after JEE January 2020

JEE allows students to only appear twice for the JEE, but since the JEE Main January 2020 and JEE Mains April 2020 fall in the same year, both of them will be taken as a single attempt. Only a better attempt will be taken into account.
  • This means that if a candidate has appeared for the NTA JEE Mains January 2020 examination, they can appear for the JEE April 2020 exam just to try their luck again. It won’t be counted as the 2nd attempt.
After JEE results are announced, the higher marks in either JEE January 2020 or JEE April 2020 will be considered by NTA. NTA will issue a final rank list after the JEE April 2020 results which would consist of scores of the January and February competitors as well.
Though, if a candidate has already appeared for JEE 2019, appearing for either of the JEE 2020 exams will be counted as his or her 2nd attempt.
