The School Education Department of Maharashtra has decided to commence the academic year in Maharashtra school from June 15, 2020, onwards. Though, the classes would be held online by the schools. The decision has been made so as to not cause any more delay in the academic loss and to lessen the educational loss of the students during the coronavirus spread and the subsequent countrywide lockdown.
Education Commissioner Vishal Solanki stated that he will reach out to a maximum of 15 students and begin their studies digitally. “We are commencing the academic year from June 15. We will try to reach out to children digitally and study them. Transportation of textbooks is allowed. Hence, we are trying to distribute as many textbooks as possible before June 15.”
The beginning of the digital academic year would mean that students can start with their studies from June 15, 2020.
Till now, MHA has not decided the date on the opening of schools, colleges, and educational institutions over India. Additionally, the ministry has also tweeted concerning the fuss going around about the re-opening of schools among students.
