NTA NEET, JEE Main 2020 Likely to be Conducted in 2nd or 3rd Week of June

With the 2nd phase of Coronavirus lockdown in place, sources claim that it is unlikely that NTA will be able to conduct the JEE and NEET before the 2nd-3rd week of June. As per the media reports, sources in the Ministry of Human Resource and Development said it would be possible for the NTA to held the medical, engineering and architecture entrance examinations in June mid only as many Boards are still to conduct the remaining Class 12 or the Senior Secondary exams.
PM Narendra Modi declared the 2nd phase of the lockdown on 14th April 2020. The COVID-19 lockdown has been further extended until 3rd May 2020. Soon after the extension of the lockdown, the NTA also declared facilities for application correction and change of exam centers in NEET & JEE Main 2020 until 3rd May showing that the conduct of the exams will be delayed.
Addressing the claims that NTA NEET UG 2020 and JEE Main 2020 will be held in the month of July a Senior administrator at NTA said that no such decision has been made by the board as yet. He replied that no dates have been pronounced by NTA as yet ans suggested the aspirants only to rely on the official notification uploaded on the official site or released by the MHRD. He also continued that under the present situation there is no way to be able to predict a date for the NEET UG 2020, JEE Main 2020 or other entrance exams administered by the NTA.
According to the reports, a senior MHRD official also said that a decision on the CBSE and NTA examination dates can only be taken after the lockdown is finished in the country. He said that NTA will consider the pending Class 10 and 12 Board exams that CBSE and many other State Boards are yet to conduct. He thus, said that even if the lockdown is lifted on 3rd May, NEET and JEE Main can only be conducted in the last half of June.
