When it was announced that Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt were all set to come together for the first time in Sanjay Leela Bhansali Inshallah, fans were super-excited. However, some criticised the pairing, citing the age difference of 27 years between them.

Alia is completely unfazed by the detractors. In an interview with an entertainment website, she said, "I did not get any criticism. I think I got a lot of excitement. I think speculation is also a form of excitement in a way and why should not there be speculation? There should be and at least I am not bothered by that and I don,t think Salman or Bhansali sir are bothered."

"I think this is a filmmaker who has given us very good films, he is someone who we all are very fond of and I think we should just trust him with his vision," she added.

Alia is extremely excited about being a part of Inshallah and revealed in a series of tweets that it has "been a long wait". "I was 9 when I first walked into Sanjay Leela Bhansali office, all nervous and hoping and praying that I would be in his next film. Its been a long wait," she wrote.

"Dream with your eyes wide open, they say, and I did. Sanjay sir and Salman Khan are magical together and I cannot wait to join them on this beautiful journey called Inshallah," the Raazi actress wrote in another tweet.

Salman and Sanjay will collaborate after two decades in Inshallah. They last worked together in the 1999 hit Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (not counting Salman special appearance in Saawariya).

Inshallah is scheduled to open in theatres on Eid 2020.
