MS Dhoni was furious and he stormed on the field of play after another no-ball controversy during Chennai Super Kings thrilling last-ball win over Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday.

Chennai Super Kings needed 18 off the last over and Ben Stokes was hit for a six by Ravindra Jadeja off the first ball of the 20th over. The next one was a no-ball and MS Dhoni managed two runs off the free-hit before being yorked out by Stokes.

Umpire Ulhas Gandhe signaled a no-ball on the fourth delivery of the over and it looked like Stokes had bowled too high. However, Bruce Oxenford standing at square leg said it was not a no-ball. Confusion ensued and Ravindra Jadeja, who was at the non-striker end got into an immediate argument with the umpires.

MS Dhoni, who had struggled for the last two overs possibly due to cramps., came charging on to the field and argued with the umpires and animatedly pointed at Ulhas Gandhe, who looked visibly shaken.

But Oxenford was firm in his decision: it was not a no-ball.

Ben Stokes tried to calm Dhoni down but the CSK captain looked far from pleased. Normally cool and composed, not often has MS Dhoni lost his cool like that on the field.

Earlier in the IPL, Virat Kohli was left fuming after the umpire failed to spot a no-ball from Lasith Malinga in the final over. Royal Challengers Bangalore lost to Mumbai Indians and are yet to win a game in the 2019 Indian Premier League.

At the end of the game Dhoni appeared calmer after CSK won a thriller in Jaipur.

"They were able to build up pressure right till the end. Once you win games like these, you are able to take a lot. But its important to work on the negatives that have not gone well, while enjoying the win. Otherwise it can come back to hurt us later in the tournament.

"Its important to see if we made an error in execution of plans (while bowling) or the opposition batsmen batted really well. We have got very good support over here (Sawai Mansingh stadium), thanks to them. Not to forget, one of my biggest innings came here so special attachment with this place. Good things is we have won the game here so it gives us the liberty to test a few bowlers (in next game against KKR)," Dhoni said at the post-match presentation.
